A practical review sequence for fit, function, artwork, finish and production readiness before mass production.
Separate structural approval from visual approval
A blank structural sample answers questions about dimensions, assembly, product fit and handling. A printed prototype answers questions about artwork, colour, hierarchy and finish. Treating these as separate checks makes feedback more precise.
Test with the real product and workflow
Load, close, carry, open and remove the product the way staff and customers will. For food packaging, include representative temperature, moisture, grease and hold time where practical.

Review artwork on every working panel
Check copy, barcode quiet zones, legal information, fold lines, seams and the orientation of panels after assembly. Colour should be evaluated against an agreed print target and under suitable lighting.
Record the approval reference
List every accepted change and identify which physical sample or annotated file becomes the production reference. Anything still open—such as final copy, colour target or insert tolerance—should be resolved before production release.
